Its a pretty simple answer if you know history kings and emperors, nobles and royal bloodlines have suppressed the common people for hundreds of years until Age of Enlightenment where we thought to our self did our king/emperor was he really chosen by god? or was he scheming with the church to put fear into the people so they don’t rebel or question their authority because of fear of eternal damnation and for monks and others its as simple as one can never be so good no one is so morally righteous neither Buddha nor the gods
